The 1993 928 GTS uses a 5.4L (5,397 cc) V8 engine with a total output of 345 hp (257 kW) and 369 ft·lb (500 N·m). It also includes changed bodywork and larger front brakes from the previous 928 models. In 1995, loaded 928 GTS models could reach prices in excess of US$100,000, making them the most expensive models in the United States at the time. This severely hampered sales despite the model’s high competency and long standard equipment list. Porsche discontinued the GTS model that year after shipping only 77 of them to the United States.
